The miracle of pregnancy

Today, I want to talk and share a little about pregnancy experience for all the new mommy-to-be out there. This is my first pregnancy and I’m 38th weeks pregnant, our baby Vogt is due on Sept 30th. We’re currently we’re in a waiting stage because she can arrive any day now. I still think it’s a miracle that women body can physically grow a baby. I’ve been very blessed to have a very easy pregnancy so far, I didn’t have the morning sickness. I was just tired from week 8th -11th, and my skin was acting up a bit. But starting around week 12-13th I feel like a new person and my skin cleared up. In my second trimester, I barely feel pregnant besides my boobs are growing and sored. I forget that I’m pregnant until I look down and see my growing belly. During this stage, I still travel a ton and had a ton of energy, see my travel posts here, here and here. Toward the end of my 2nd trimester during week 24th I felt her kicking and hasn’t stop ever since. If this is not a miracle then I don’t know what is.

After coming back from our Europe trip, I entered my 3rd trimester. Now I’m near home stretch, thinking about getting ready for delivery. One of the biggest subjects about getting ready for delivery is contractions, but what about contractions? I don’t know what I suppose to expect or what they are suppose to feel like.

When BloomLife reached out to let me try their wearable contraction monitor.

I was 100% on board when I found out that I can automatically track and count my contractions by simply just wearing a small device on my belly. This also helps me to tell what a contraction feels like, even though at this stage it doesn’t hurt yet. I also learned about the 5-1-1 rule, this means that I’m getting my contractions in 5 min frequency at 1 min duration within 1-hour span. Our OBGYN informed me that once my contraction gets to a consistent pattern that means my body is going to start labor. I’ve been using this device now for the last couple of weeks on the daily mainly at night when we’re watching TV or while I’m sleeping, see image for the result. Obviously, my contractions are not consistent yet, but this was really helpful when I show it to my OBGYN this morning. He said that these contractions are helping the baby to move into position. Another reason why this device and the app is so awesome because it’s so helpful to show the result and share the experiences with your loved ones and or medical professionals.

To all the mom-to-be out there, want to know more about your pregnancy and contractions. Time to place your rental order with BloomLife. Use my code “RachelVogt10” to save 10% on your weekly rental. Most moms like to have Bloomlife for the last 6-8 weeks of their pregnancy to learn from and connect with their body as they prepare for labor. You can start it whenever you want since the rental model allows you to match your rental period to your specific pregnancy needs.

Thank you for reading about my pregnancy 101 and thanks BloomLife for sponsoring this post, but all thoughts are mine.

Wow this is so cool I wish they had this when I had my babies. You are nearing the end mama, and I am so excited for you! Contractions are definitely a good sign that they baby will be here soon. It’s great that you can monitor them and also keep record. Especially when you are about to deliver, it helps to keep track of how long and far apart they are. The more consistent and frequent they occur, you know you will have to be heading to the hospital soon! Hang in there and good luck to you! xoxo, Christine
